Panasonic unveils DMC-TS1 rugged compact camera image
Pre-PMA 2009: Panasonic has launched the DMC TS1 (DMC-FT1 in europe), its first rugged digital compact and the world’s first to feature AVCHD lite HD video recording. The TS1 is designed to be dustproof, waterproof up to 3 meters and shockproof up to 1.3 meters. It incorporates AVCHD Lite video compression in 3 quality levels to allow longer HD video recording. A Wind Cut function helps block out background wind noise during video recording.

Photography Contest at Wired.com

Announced late last night at Wired.com is an awesome new photography contest, whereupon the subject is the elusive and oft-captured shadow.

The contest trounced across my computer screen and into my head just a few hours later and I have not been able to forget about it! It's like a song you hear on a television commercial and cannot get out of your head, nor can you fill that space with another song.

I have been shooting regular (as opposed to unleaded?) photography for a couple of decades and stock photography for a few years.
